Bodem Rugs
Bodem Rugs are an Amsterdam-based brand that create flat handwoven jute rugs. They are a rather new brand on the market being founded last year, in 2020. Nowadays rugs are found on every continent and they are part of the everyday life. They are used in a lot of interior design style. First of all, they add a variation of the floor surface while being warm. They separate spaces, even create and define the limits of a space. One of this materials is jute. Jute rugs are made through both manual or machine woven techniques and they create a refreshing atmosphere with their organic feel.
About jute rugs
Jute is processed from the jute plant, which grows fast and luxuriant without any pesticides. The jute plant is an annual plant than can grow up to 3,6 meters and it is mostly common for the Gange Delta. It is a sturdy material, used in making of numerous households items. Usually, the woven rugs are made using the natural colour of the fibre, which has an original beige tan, but they can also be coloured for a more vibrant touch.
Jute rugs have a lot of special proprieties that make them a good choice for the interior design, beside the natural aesthetics. They are durable because of the natural fibre used for making them, they are soft and comfortable to walk on, they have a special texture given by the woven fibres, they have low extensibility, making them suitable for warm environment without the danger of extension in the material. All these characteristics also makes them suitable for high traffic areas.
