Tekla
Changing your Home Textile Dynamics
Home is your personal safe space that reflects your personality. Everywhere you move, it makes you feel that you're in your comfort zone. You want to surround yourself with different feelings: emotions that take you back to the serenity of your sacred places.
In your personal space, you want stuff of your simple daily needs that can make your life a little easier, and this is where Tekla Fabrics comes in the picture. Tekla Fabrics is a young Danish design studio based in Copenhagen, boasting a collection of simple, quality, and sustainable textiles carefully curated in distinct and subtle, chalky shades that are easy to mix and match.
About the Creator:
Tekla is a concept of Charlie Hedin, who was among the original creatives behind Acne Studios. He also co-founded Swedish footwear brand Eytys, and then he moved to Los Angeles to work for WP&A. After three years of thorough research on textile, in 2017, he started Tekla and moved to Copenhagen with a desire to fill the market gap related to home textile.
The objective of the Brand:
Tekla was founded to create the best possible fabric. They want to make the nature of the fabric, and it's qualities more prominent. Tekla believes that textiles play an important role in each home: it can alter the ambiance and change your perception about your personal space. Their primary goal is to show how important is a home textile and how it can make a difference in your everyday life in a very subtle way.
Accessibility
One thing that is great about Tekla's bedding, textile, and clothing, in general, is that they're accessible and are for everyone. Accessibility also means reasonable prices, and while Tekla isn't cheap, it's not outrageously costly either. For the products to be of the finest quality, prices have to be a little bit more expensive, but what you get in the end justifies its price. They know how weather and seasonality play into a sleep space and your comfortable wears, so before launching any product in the market, they do their complete homework about it, like researching textiles and how it can make your living and sleep better.
Functionality
Tekla believes that everything they create has to be functional. Like when you sail, you need things that work. For example, a towel should be something that gets you dry. You wouldn't buy a sweater if it weren't breathable or light. The company's focus is not just on textiles; they also produce leisure-wear, something that you like to wear in your spare time or to have a comfortable sleep; products that are very functional but in a nice and beautiful way.
Philosophy of the company:
Tekla is working with the approach of less is more. They produce sustainable things that can last a lifetime, so you don't have to change your stuff every other month. Functionality is also one of their main concerns, Tekla is about freedom, and they believe that functionality is freedom. All of their products are made from organic material, and there's no plastic in their supply chain. These are the things that make his Brand one of a kind.
